Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting
Start with proofsheet doctor. It prints one line per check, with the fix under any that fails or warns. Run it in your app repo to check that project too.
Doctor checks
| Check | When it fails or warns | Fix |
|---|---|---|
project | The repo's config.toml does not parse. | Fix the file; proofsheet e2e config get shows the error. |
hub | The hub does not answer at http://127.0.0.1:8765. | Open ~/.local/bin/Proofsheet.app, or run proofsheet serve. |
devices | No phones connected. | Plug a phone in by USB. Android: turn on USB debugging. iPhone: tap Trust on it and turn on Developer Mode. |
android | adb does not run. | brew install --cask android-platform-tools, or set ADB to adb's path. |
ios | Xcode is not installed or not selected. | Install Xcode from the App Store, then sudo xcode-select -s /Applications/Xcode.app. |
| No Apple Development signing identity for your team. | Add your Apple ID in Xcode: Settings > Accounts. | |
| WebDriverAgent is not built, or was built for another team. | proofsheet ios setup --team <your team ID>. | |
| Signed until a date that is near or past. | Run proofsheet ios setup again (a free Apple ID's apps last 7 days). | |
portal | Not logged in, or the session ended. | proofsheet portal login. |
| The project uploads to a workspace you're not logged in to. | proofsheet portal login --workspace <slug>. | |
| Logged in to several workspaces, and the repo names none. | proofsheet e2e config set portal.workspace <slug>. | |
| The portal is not reachable. | Check your network, then run proofsheet doctor again. |
Checks for a platform the project doesn't use show as skip.
Uploads refused
- "only admins upload runs": ask an admin of the workspace to make you an admin, or to upload.
- "Storage is full": delete runs, or upgrade on Billing (Plans and storage).
Updates
proofsheet update
It downloads the newest release, checks its checksum and signing team, and installs it; the hub restarts. It refuses while a run holds a phone, and never downgrades. The hub tells you, at most once a day, when a newer release is out.
Logs
The hub writes its log to ~/Library/Logs/proofsheet.log.
